What is the
Montessori Method?
The Montessori Method was developed by Maria Montessori, the first Italian woman to earn a medical degree. Montessori believed the first six years of a child’s life while still learning and absorbing information unconsciously are the most vital in terms of their development. She placed emphasis on the value of environmental experience in education as well as the development of the ‘whole child’.
About our
Teachers and Support Staff
Our school Director is Sunita Parmar, with 14 years of Montessori and school leadership experience. She has also served for eight years on the Executive Committee of the South African Montessori Association in various positions, including President in 2018.
All our staff are dedicated to ensuring each child feels happy and valued while they learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Our classes operate within the Montessori pedagogy of freedom within limits. Each child is celebrated and taught as an individual so that they are able grow to their fullest potential.
