The Preschool Program is for children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old. At this level, the child’s classroom is a prepared environment designed to stimulate interest and exploration. Through the use of the unique Montessori materials, children learn by associating abstract concepts with myriad sensorial experiences. Hands and mind work together; doing and manipulating, rather than simply observing. As the children become engaged in activities, they begin to develop concentration, attention to detail and self-discipline while working towards completion of tasks. Courtesy, as well as respect for others and the environment is important aspects of daily classroom life.

Together, three, four, five and six year old children interact and learn from each other in a classroom that is rich in choice and opportunity. Assisting their teachers, the older children serve as role models and mentors for the younger students in the class. As children progress within the group, their confidence grows along with their expanding knowledge.

Guided by Montessori qualified and assistant teachers, with an average class size of 48 students, our Pre­school children benefit from an individualised approach that encourages self-motivation and independence.

Entry Age: Children are grouped in mixed ages and abilities. Children are required to be fully toilet trained with entry into preschool the age of 3 years.
